Trend-Sketching NYC Bridal Market 2011 – Dessy Group, Aruna Seth, and Winnie Couture

I truly hope you are enjoying our flurry of Bridal Market Trend-Sketching reports!  Be sure to catch up with Theia, Romona Keveza, Carol Hannah, Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose!  Please, please reach out with any questions ladies.  We soaked in a wealth of information over the last few days!  Today we could hardly decide what to feature first so we’re giving you a look at three standouts!

Another big trend in weddings is emerging from under the dress. Show stopping shoes, of course 😉 Aruna Seth has some stunners, from satin wedges with rhinestones studded bows to white python, and available in a slew of modern hues. The shoes are every bit a lady, but the one you don’t want to mess with.  Sketching python pattern was a thrill and of course capturing the drama of row after row of rhinestones!

The Dessy Group has all that is new and exciting from top notch designers in bridal and maids. We were instantly drawn in by a saturated palette of hues in pink, red and mango. Modern takes on lace with an oblong polk-a-dot pattern and dramatic Grecian draping to name a few.

The large rosette sketched at the top left is just dying to become a Sculpted Bloom Wedding Invitation made of handmade lace paper, wouldn’t you say?

Winnie Couture brought bold ruffles and and lots of shimmy to the runway. Mermaids with flamenco flair, billowing bustles fit for a queen and a peach show stopper to top it off. It’s a glamorous life.

Pleats are making a huge comeback but in a softer, sexier flavor better suited for the millennial bride.  We’re envisioning pleats taking shape on couture wedding invitations as well.  Hand-painted and delicately folded paper pleats anyone?  I think so.
