We are off and running with 2011 projects and this week has already been full of some stunning painted paper goodies.  First up is Rachel bold and red Hibiscus bloom painted with sheer shimmer inks.  Papers choices included a lovely linen textured palm leaf pattern and a shimmery brick red cardstock.  The celebrations is unfolding at Zephyr Palace, Villa Caletas in Puerto Rico.   Rachel and Spencer’s artwork tag features a stunning view of the ceremony site with the serene waters as a backdrops.  Guests should be instantly enchanted by the scene, I know we were while painting the original! I am so proud and have been counting the days until I could share the news with you all.  As you know my team, the lovely Momental Girls are the heart and soul of the studio.  Our work, my art, this studio could not be what it is without them.  The biggest yet most unexpected  joy of running this business grew from the knowledge that I have built a team of proud and talented women who inspire me daily.  Last summer a flurry of samples were on the painting table ready to ship to the lovely Leila.  Days were spent […]

Earlier this week I shared the 2010 Momental Gift Guide and today after swooning the entire week decided to create an invitation inspired by this lovely bag by one of my favs, Kate Spade.  Iconic shapes, delicate patterns, unexpected materials and saturated color use are hallmarks of this fashion icon’s designs.  Who wouldn’t be inspired? My interpretation of the Candy Darling bag includes Envelopments Ecru Swiss dot pattern stock, wax paper and a gold beading. My highly stylized Dahlia boom was completely hand painted onto a wax paper element wrapped around the top one third of the invitation layout.  Shimmery […]

It has been quite an eclectic time at the studio.  A lavish and meticulously painted letterpress invitation for Krystle was the centerpiece of last week’s schedule.  We labored over the juicy fuchsia strokes and light pink washes of color on each invitation.  There is something though, about getting lost in creating a lovely stroke.  The simple act of putting brush to paper, repeatedly, can be cathartic and rhythmic and just plain good for the soul. Jess and I wrapped up the pieces for#Eventology happening in Indy as we speak!  A contrast painted magnolia was Katasha’s choice and looked stunning against […]

Jes and Andrea’s Halloween Tree is the Momental Girls unanimous favorite this week!  My hand drawn silhouette combined beautifully with copper and filigree shimmering cardstocks.  The look is a testament to the visual power of  combining mindful, yet simple design with exquisite materials. Jes first contacted me nearly a year ago describing her and Andrea’s handfasting ceremony under this beloved tree in New Jersey.  About 2 months ago she emailed saying their tree had been partially destroyed by gypsy moths – so sad.  Not a problem though as I quickly changed my illustration – ah the joys of custom wedding […]
