Special projects for our favorite magazines are always the most fun.  When Leila at Be Inspired PR emailed and said the gals at Southern Weddings were interested in a painted backdrop…my heart stopped a bit!  How fun?! I enlisted the help of my invitation artist/creative assistant and all around talented gal Jess D…well actually Jess Z. (she’s the Momental Girl who just got married)… We painted away for the good part of two days – the finished piece was nearly 10 x10 feet!! With summer in full bloom (pun intended), I’ve been painting the weekends away.  Whether I pluck the freshest from my Mom’s garden or find some pretties at the local market, there has been no shortage of flora for me to capture.  Last weekend I found the most gorgeous creamy, blushy Lisianthus.  Rich, violet snapdragons were nearby and went home with me as well! I don’t know much about sports but watching the Olympics or portions of the Tour de France get me pretty excited.  The stories, the triumphs, the tribulations…all make for some excellent TV watching.  This weekend I happened to catch portions of the Tour de France.  As the newscast panned to several cyclists staying limber on stationary bikes I got to thinking…As artists, we too need to stay limber.
