It has been a while since I featured our Signature Vintage Lacy Tree Wedding Invitation;  Long enough I would say!  Our Lacy tree has a long history, an evolving character and is beloved by us all at the studio.  Whimsical charm, custom sketches and a lighthearted mood make the tree a constant favorite.  Melanie first contacted us and knew the tree was for her.  Marrying in a vegetable garden *love*, the lacy quality of the tree seemed perfect.  I suggested a basket full of veggies nestled under the tree. We then added dragonflies and a pretty wrap in Envelopments Repousse […]

Just this past March my best friend Amy who I have known for nearly 15 years went out on a date.  Innocent enough, right?  Little did I know that 6 months later she would be engaged and planning a wedding for July 30, 2011!  So what does a best friend do, namely a best friend immersed in the wedding industry?  Introduce a new blog series of course!!  Amy and Stephen (the groom for here on out) are already knee deep in preparing for their Eastern Shore wedding next summer.  With the proposal only 3 weeks old, I am entirely impressed, […]

You may remember a post from a few months ago, letting you know of my plans to collaborate with some favorite local talent on a tablescape shoot I had been visioning for some time.  First let me say that the team was made up of amazing people whose input and vision were integral to the end result of this shoot.  From the beginning I felt it was important to bring everyone together to bounce ideas around and ensure we were all pumped about the design.  On one chilly fall morning last year, that is exactly what we did.  On my […]

Today is a look behind the scenes at the stationery pieces created for the Bride and Bloom shoot featuring Elizabeth Messina, Merriment Events and Janie Medley.  I mentioned in yesterday’s post that the request was for a non-flower centered design that was clean and unfussy. A look at the collection photographed by yours truly. You can imagine my shock when I learned our looks were on two pages!  The shot above features Janie’s gorgeous bouquet as seen on pg 131. The half circles seen on each piece were individually hand painted, freehand.  No guides or template used here, just a […]

Many years ago after meeting a client in Barnes and Noble (before I had a studio outside of my home), I picked up a magazine.  The name was Bride and Bloom and I remember being drawn in distinctly because of the watercolor droplets as part of the gorgeous cover.  From the first page, I was lured into a world of tabletop design, real weddings and color palettes all with a distinct artistic edge.  From that very moment on I made it one of my goals, or should I say dreams to one day have my hand painted stationery designs featured […]
