“She’s a good girl and he’s a genuinely good guy who loves her so much…”   These words, from Carolynne and Mark’s photographer describe this sweet couple perfectly.  I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to share this wedding.  A humid day in Pennsylvania where the air is thick with late summer seems in need of  a little light and fresh…these wedding images from Paula O’Hara, are just what we need today. From the Bride: What was your inspiration or your colors and/or theme? I wanted my overall wedding to be elegant, soft & romantic. With a slightly modern take […]

Last week was peppered with the painting of two very floral bouquets.  Both of our couples adored a blushy-pink color palette and a mix of classic blooms like Ranunculus, Peach Amaryllis and Garden Roses.  First up was Kaitlin’s bouquet…with the lovely Pieris added to the mix. The original was quite vibrant so when it came time for Kaitlin’s invitation sample I toned down the palette a bit with a more muted over-painting in shades of peach, blush and sage greens…  My Trellis Pattern with Envelopments was added to give a subtle and sophisticated shimmer and texture to the layering. With summer in full bloom (pun intended), I’ve been painting the weekends away.  Whether I pluck the freshest from my Mom’s garden or find some pretties at the local market, there has been no shortage of flora for me to capture.  Last weekend I found the most gorgeous creamy, blushy Lisianthus.  Rich, violet snapdragons were nearby and went home with me as well! I decided to work in a circle this time around to accentuate the graceful lines of the Lisianthus and Snapdragon stems… I’m still obsessed with my nearly noen pink watercolor and seem to be adding it to […]

So I had this idea… Those are the words that get me into trouble time and time again…the good kind of trouble. After seeing Oprah’s February 2012 cover by chalk artist Dana Tanamachi I just had to find a way to re-interpret the concept in watercolor!  A quick email to Eco-Beautiful Magazine editor, Katie Martin and the project was underway!  The Eco-Beautiful team hosted us in Baltimore to make sure everything went just perfectly and of course so we could hand paint any finishing touches onsite.    We painted 3 murals for the cover editorial and the issue launched last […]

I paint everyday.  Mostly for couples, to tell their beautiful love  stories. This pattern tells my story.  At a shoot in Baltimore for Eco Beautiful Magazine, I fell in love with a bouquet on site.  The team found me hovering over the darn thing between sessions sketching feverishly.  The bouquet went home with me as a parting gift and within the next 24 hours this watercolor evolved.  It is now a full scale pattern and making it’s way into some newness at the studio that has me tingling. Neon brights mingled with golden tones…a bit of pen and ink and […]
