I truly hope you are enjoying our flurry of Bridal Market Trend-Sketching reports!  Be sure to catch up with Theia, Romona Keveza, Carol Hannah, Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose!  Please, please reach out with any questions ladies.  We soaked in a wealth of information over the last few days!  Today we could hardly decide what to feature first so we’re giving you a look at three standouts! Another big trend in weddings is emerging from under the dress. Show stopping shoes, of course 😉 Aruna Seth has some stunners, from satin wedges with rhinestones studded bows to white python, and […]

Lela Rose proved to be classic and clean with a wealth of surprises in the details. Effortlessly modern silhouettes were adorned with intricate beading, art deco embroidery and cameo necklines. Our attention was immediately drawn to the sculptural beadwork that had a whimsical and organic quality strung together with a contrasting gray thread. Brilliant! A personal favorite was a trumpet gown with a modern take on sparkle, subtly woven throughout deco inspired arches and dotted with petite rosettes.  My sketches revisited this sophisticated take on a lattice pattern over and over woven together with structural bead-like suggestions and loads of […]

What can you say about iconic Monique Lhuillier that hasn’t already been said? All I can tell you is that she certainly doesn’t disappoint. The collection was nothing short of what the designer describes as her “floral fantasy”. A larger than life image of blue hydrangeas (can I volunteer myself right now to paint this for the next collection?) set the stage for the parade of frothy frocks. You can imagine the shock to discover  my seat  front and center with the biggest names in bridal media prepped to watch this gorgeous show unfold?  It was truly an honor.  I’m […]

While in NY we had the privilege of popping in on Project Runway designer Carol Hannah, who extended us a gracious invite to her studio for a peek at what she has in the works. While not showing a collection at Bridal Market,  the savvy designer still had quite a few frocks up her tailored sleeves.  Carol Hannah is taking her youthful and feminine aesthetic and translating it into an affordable and effortlessly chic new line for the bride in a DIY mind.  Retaining all the quality, flowing silhouettes and attention to detail you would expect is key but while […]

I could barely contain my excitement at the Fall 2012 Romona Keveza show.  From the minute we entered the ballroom at the iconic St. Regis Hotel in NYC drama was in play.  Lighting were glowing golden, the soft hum of the crowd was building and my sketchbook was already filling as I peeked at press releases waiting on my seat.  The lights dimmed and a Parisian inspired sound filled the space.  Energy in the room was palpable as the models graced the runway. I feverishly sketched and could see that color was integral to Romona Keveza’s Fall 2012 line.  Tiffany […]
