I won’t belabor the reasons why this is my first and last post of the week but just the same I’ve missed you dear blog!!  This time of year is infamous at the studio as we are in high season, preparing for Engage! conferences (this year in Vegas) and managing various other projects.  May of 2012 has proven to be a record breaker.  This week…. I painted my heart out…floral patterns seem to be my current obsession. Loads of watercolor, juicy textures and the coolest, my newest shade of neon pink have me quite excited. On Tuesday we were guests […]

Yesterday the hubby and I celebrated our 12th Wedding Anniversary. 12 years. Wow.  Time seems to be chasing me with the constant reminder that each moment has something valuable to be noticed, felt…experienced.  The seasons pass quicker, the milestones come and go at a fevered pace these days, amidst the flurry of life.  It is all too easy to let it pass by without so much as a nod. What I love most about Adam (the hubby) is his thirst for life, his need to savor the small moments, his passion for the people that surround him.   He reminds me […]

We are always trying to find meaning, find ourselves, find the moment, find happiness and make it all fit.  These days we leave very little to chance.  So what about finding time to get lost?  I sat at the foot of a monstrous monolith this past week and the words “I feel lost here” came to mind as I painted the sun setting in all it’s juicy tones.  I do feel lost here, in this warm and dry place you all have heard me speak of countless times.  A good kind of lost…the best kind of lost really. Atlanta breezed by in a whirlwind way leaving me with sore feet, good memories and a few remaining red velvet cupcakes made by the lovely Sharon.  But seriously, my trek to Atlanta was less about the food I ate of the laughs I had and all about the people I connected with.  Your besties on Twitter become real people face to face and suddenly you feel like you’ve know them forever, in a small but real way. Starting the day with 3 Claire Pettibone gowns staring you down […]

You may have seen our feature on Green Wedding Shoes last week?  Well let me tell you a story… Dresses by The Dessy Group There is nothing I enjoy painting more than florals.  For years I tried to hide that fact and make nice with every design trend that passed my nose.  Being versatile keeps things interesting, so I do love a good landscape painting session or sitting down with the pencil to craft a new pattern, BUT my first love will always be floral. When Envelopments approached me about collaborating on a watercolor pattern featuring the floral designs I […]
