Our paper palette has been quite varied this week.  Some of our favorites….. Samantha’s orchid and peony bouquet has inspired so many couples lately with its contrast painting (light against dark) technique and richly patterned paisley papers. Abby’s bouquet of peach hydrangeas, fluffy pink roses plus greens and branches epitomizes summer and makes me wish it were here!  The blush cabbage rose pattern with its lovely texture has quickly become a favorite, especially paired with soft lilac! Flowers are blooming like mad here at the studio.  From bold, graphic patterns to lush romantic bouquet style illustrations, we cannot get enough of this garden inspired subject matter!  Two projects in particular were the talk of the studio this week.  Kate’s Vintage Petal Pattern in shades of aqua, fuchsia and pale yellow were a blast to hand paint.  The graceful swoosh of each petal accented by lively yellow dots are just perfect to welcome Kate’s spring wedding.  Kate’s design really transformed from her original concept begun last summer, have a peek! What seems like forever ago I created the very first Momental Hydrangea Wedding Invitation for Kelley, my fabulous managing assistant.    The artwork was small and stunning and seemed to inspire a continuing interest in this lofty bloom from that point on. The first Momental Hydrangeas as created for Kelley.  This past Tuesday Kelley and Hubby AJ celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary so I dedicate this post to them, congratulations!
