Handmade custom invitations & stationery
by Kristy Rice

The story of this project started three years ago…which seems to me like forever ago.  I decided to orchestrate my very first inspiration shoot.  A carefully chosen team and venue later, we were in full swing carefully crafting the artful table you may have seen on the What Junebug Loves blog yesterday.    There are a few reasons why I’ve waited this long to share the shoot, the only important one being I wanted this project to have a perfect home.  It finally does. Three years ago, art and watercolor textures were just beginning to become wedding decor detail.  In 2009, […]

Day two of our Tim Burton Inspired wedding and it is all about the details!  Dorian from Central Park Flowers in Olyphant, PA knocked it out of the park, sorry to be cheesy but no other way to say it.  Sprightly mosses, crimson roses and orchids galore all sculpted together in topsy-turvy elegance took my breath away.   Jessica’s invitations were a wow statement in color.  A hand illustrated Tim Burton style tree in silhouette was accented with our Lacy Leaves pattern all hand painted in purples.   Envelopments Mod pattern, oh yeah.   Big hugs to Jessica for being […]

You may remember my entry for the Inspired Creations competition that I shared a while back.  Ami from Elizabeth Anne Designs and Cyd from The Sweetest Occasion visioned the contest as a way to draw out some creative love from talent throughout the wedding industry and boy did they ever….I was thrilled to step outside my design comfort zone, so to speak and create my Alchemy at the Barn tablescape. I tweeted this on Monday: “2011 planning continues this week. My go to words this year: RE-DEFINE, GRACE, PAINTERLY, NARRATE. What are yours?” Then Michelle from Sage Wedding Pros tweeted this and my head has been spinning ever since: What is your INTENTION for 2011? This year has gone by faster than any other in my life.  To say this year was full of changes, landmarks and hurdles is an understatement.  All good, moving-forward type changes though.  The kind any good life lead needs.  Moving into 2011 I am forever mindful of 4 distinct intentions: 1. We get only so […]

For the next installment of our Renewal in PA posts, I am sharing more today about our candy favors, Sylvia Weinstock Cake and the stationery by yours truly!  Have a look at previous posts here and here to catch up on all the detail! A big part of our vow renewal planning process involved collecting. Some of my fondest memories in planning grew from the many trips we took as a family hunting down depression style glassware, old  sour cream glasses and linens to use throughout the celebration.  My Nana had a good sized collection of vintage sour cream glasses […]
