Handmade custom invitations & stationery

Last fall the lovely ladies of Eve Events got in touch to involve me in what turned out to be an incredible experience.  They explained that the editors of The Knot were crafting an inspiration story around the beauty of a Monique Lhuillier gown.  All details from china to linens and stationery were to be inspired by the The Field of Dreams Collection as described here by Monique herself: “Butterflies, branches, twigs, wheat stalks and feathers all delicately woven into the collection.  Lots of texture created with organza, tulle, floral embroideries appliqued onto sheer corsets with whimsical skirts…Romance is back!!” […]

Yesterday I shared a Behind the Scenes look at our Grand Cayman Inspiration shoot.  We’re all about the color and texture here, drawing on the juicy hue of the blood orange and the lush texture and grace of our Big Bloom watercolor illustration.  Today I’m diving deeper into the Tropical Wedding Invitation suite created.  Our stunning model and breezy gown perfect for beach side nuptials deserve some attention too. The main bloom was abstracted a bit to draw the eye more to the watercolor textures and breezy shape. We’ve all seen the classic tropical color palettes that seem perfectly suited […]

I am so excited to finally share my Grand Cayman project with you!   This collaboration started  one quiet winter afternoon in January 2010.  I worked from home one afternoon after the Holidays and let my mind wander for a day; thinking on several ideas I hadn’t let my mind visit during the bustle of high wedding season.  Daydreaming about Engage 10 in Grand Cayman coming that June led to thoughts of assembling some friends there to vision a purely inspirational shoot.  What could be better than the white sands and cerulean blue waters of Grand Cayman and when else […]

Our paper palette has been quite varied this week.  Some of our favorites….. Samantha’s orchid and peony bouquet has inspired so many couples lately with its contrast painting (light against dark) technique and richly patterned paisley papers. Abby’s bouquet of peach hydrangeas, fluffy pink roses plus greens and branches epitomizes summer and makes me wish it were here!  The blush cabbage rose pattern with its lovely texture has quickly become a favorite, especially paired with soft lilac! Kristin’s adventurous collection includes sailboats, a compass and a low country shrimp boil.  We adore the contrast painted pot against persimmon paper.  Wow! […]

I always say a messy painting table means only one thing…good things are happening.  Let’s just say the Painting table has been messy for quite some time.  Our handmade wedding invitations are a smattering of ideas and sketches, paint drips and Muddy Brushes that meld to create stunning results that reflect each couple we have the honor of collaborating with.  Ella’s heavily detailed design is a perfect example of the combination of elements brought together to elicit  paper design that sings of personality and an unmistakable sense of hand. Ella’s design started a long way from final look chosen above. […]
