A Peek into the Studio – Starry Night Wedding Invitations

A sophisticated spin on a Starry Night concept is where we began with this hand painted wedding invitation collaboration.  Our couples had a few requests; ultra thick stock, silver foil and intense color but without loosing elegance.

{We began with the idea of creating our own, intense stock by painting each with shades of indigo ink.  It was a messy endeavor but so worth it!}

Several shades of intensely saturated indigo inks were used, together with big brushes and a lot of water.

After dry, these were sent off to be foil printed.

Possibly a favorite detail are the painted edges, but not your typical painted edges.  These edges were detailed on the edge and on the front surface of the invite itself.  A simple but steady swoosh of an angled brush dipped with the perfect amount of silver ink is all that is needed.

Twinkling rhinestone detailing on each.

How could I forget!?  Before printing we spattered the hand painted stock with silver ink to create that authentic, night sky twinkle.

The couple’s mantra “the best is yet to come” had to make its way into the design so we created curios arrows hung from silver dupioni ribbon on each.
