Happy 4th!

So my yard is full of fireworks ready for nightfall.  The sodas are on ice and I’m off to enjoy a day with family and friends!  I pulled this peacock abstract out of the archives, so to speak (haven’t seen it in a while).  It has a patriotic palette and explosive vibe, don’t you think?  Perfect for a little Independence Day cheer.  Have fun all and stay safe!

Front porch painting days are divine.  The last few weekends I’ve made a point to step outside and set up painting camp in the fresh air.  Every year we will fill our wraparound porch with massive hanging baskets and this year they have become inspiration for a few new patterns.  The fuchsia this year are amaze…I can’t get enough of the plump little blossoms in the most vibrant shades… I pluck a few select blooms and float in white milk glass.  Saw the pattern unfold before I even grabbed my pencil. I paint everyday.  Mostly for couples, to tell their beautiful love  stories. This pattern tells my story.  At a shoot in Baltimore for Eco Beautiful Magazine, I fell in love with a bouquet on site.  The team found me hovering over the darn thing between sessions sketching feverishly.  The bouquet went home with me as a parting gift and within the next 24 hours this watercolor evolved.  It is now a full scale pattern and making it’s way into some newness at the studio that has me tingling.
