Just as our couples have a love story, so does Momental.  Momental Designs grew from a love affair with painting and…well, love itself. (Our passion for bringing fine art to the invitation page endures.) Georgia O’Keeffe, one of my favorite painters of all time often spoke about how so few of us really see the world around us. Really see. {We pass through our days with technology blinders on, often truly missing the life that hovers in and around the nooks and crannies of emotional hours and task filled days.  We miss the joy that the small moments our hours have to offer.} […]

The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia was a dream come true.  Just as I imagined, stepping through the doors of the grand entrance was much like stepping back in time.  As An Artist at The Greenbrier I felt like I was walking hallowed halls.  Grand lives had been lived in these spaces and finally I had become a small part of the spirit of The Greenbrier. I literally spent four days walking the property, lingering in every room, peeking into ballrooms and sketching while perched on countless overstuffed, floral print chairs.  I went outside once friends, just once.  […]

I love those moments when for whatever reason, you discover a new artist.  An artist that you feel with your whole being you should have known about and had the chance to be inspired by all these years….  Rebecca, a new Momental Bride, introduced me to Cecil Beaton this week, who, in his time was quite the renaissance man.  Known as a portrait photographer, painter and Academy Award winning costume designer, Sir Cecil, had it all covered. {Rebecca’s invitation design will have Cecil Beaton as its muse.} His whimsical illustrations for Vogue are a particular favorite and sweet Rebecca, our […]

Making art is about taking a journey.  This shoot, has had quite the journey over the last two years and to that end…yes, making art requires unrelenting patience.  Two years ago we traveled to Southern Utah, with two of the most inspiring photographers I’ve had the pleasure to know.  With a common vision and shared passion we embarked on a journey to express all the creative energy bubbling up inside of us.  Sepia had long been an inspirational concept for me artistically and I wanted to somehow translate it into a tangible moment. All began with this Pinterest board, where […]

Oh my, oh my, oh my!!  This real wedding has my heart with it’s breezy elegance and sophistication paired with wonderful moments of personality.  For the Wedding Invitations, Liz, the Bride was inspired by the magical quality of Chinoiserie patterns.  Birdcages made an appearance…of course. Her Chinoiserie Wedding Invitation featured a gilded frame, colorful birds, select blooms and a whimsical monogram. Table number perfection. The monogram made another appearance on this lovely Sweet & Saucy cake! A close-up of the original artwork created for Liz!
