So when an artist is asked to paint for a well known brand, it’s pretty exciting.  Late last year our friends at Plum Pretty Sugar came to me with an idea and today I am so honored to share the fruits of this idea! {BHLDN carries an exclusive collection of Bridesmaid and Flower Girl Robes from Plum Pretty Sugar and now one of our watercolor pieces is part of this collection!} We worked through about 6 different pattern options in various palettes but landed on what we call our Peach Peony Garden pattern. {Have a closer look at the pattern!}

I’ve been doing a lot of late nights these days.  Not sure if I’m trying to pump myself up for sleepless baby nights or what but less sleep has been my mantra as of late.  Something about the quiet of the house when you’re the only one awake is sacred in a way, like you are experiencing time that no one else is a part of.  In these wee hours time opens up and slows down.  Thinking takes on a new meaning and my hand craves a brush, pen, marker or whatever will facilitate meditation on paper. {In these late […]

Nothing holds the nostalgia of my younger years quite like the stories of Anne of Green Gables.  In so many ways my best friend Amy and I grew up with and through the tales of Lucy Maude Montgomery. {As Anne, the heroine, traversed her days and years of life from a wistful and bright red-headed orphan to elegant seasons of Gibson Girl style and love affairs galore, Anne was our muse for life, love and wisdom.} Amy and I have been fast friends since the sixth grade.  We, much like the fictional friends Anne and Diana are the epitome of kindred spirits.  We’ve been together through […]

Just as our couples have a love story, so does Momental.  Momental Designs grew from a love affair with painting and…well, love itself. (Our passion for bringing fine art to the invitation page endures.) Georgia O’Keeffe, one of my favorite painters of all time often spoke about how so few of us really see the world around us. Really see. {We pass through our days with technology blinders on, often truly missing the life that hovers in and around the nooks and crannies of emotional hours and task filled days.  We miss the joy that the small moments our hours have to offer.} […]

If you follow me on Instagram, the news of my second book contract (#onebooktwobooks) won’t be a surprise. If you need to get up to speed on the progress on book #1 (#kristysbook), read here and here. About one month after signing a contract for the manuscript due in December, I signed another for 3 manuscripts due the second week of July!! {God has really knocked my socks off with his blessings this year.  He seems to be clearing paths in places I never imagined and each day I’m excited to wake up and see what happens!} Of course I […]
