Christy and Ted 08.23.2008

Christy emailed me early this year and was just loving my simple bride and groom illustration. She requested a personal twist however – the addition of her beloved Golden Retriever Ginger. Thus Christy and Ted’s very personal invitation design was born! We created a simply elegant gatefold design with a focus on materials and artwork. I especially love the linen ribbon in the perfect shade of green and the sheer shimmer hand-painted accents on the illustration that catch the light beautifully.

Christy and Ted were married at Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California. As you can see from the photos, the venue the perfect backdrop to their amazing sense of style and detail. I am especially fond of the pink shots, as I call them! The photographer notes on her blog, Christy’s Manolo Blahniks that were purchased at a major discount – fill us in Christy!

Christy and Ted are both librarians so I had to share their genius place card concept! In light of the library theme carried throughout the event we experimented with this quirky version of the response card. This version never made it to her guests but it was certainly fun, just the same!

These fantastic photos compliments of Sarah K. Chen Photography.
