Behind the Scenes – Wedding Stationery for Monique Lhuillier and The Knot

Last fall the lovely ladies of Eve Events got in touch to involve me in what turned out to be an incredible experience.  They explained that the editors of The Knot were crafting an inspiration story around the beauty of a Monique Lhuillier gown.  All details from china to linens and stationery were to be inspired by the The Field of Dreams Collection as described here by Monique herself:

“Butterflies, branches, twigs, wheat stalks and feathers all delicately woven into the collection.  Lots of texture created with organza, tulle, floral embroideries appliqued onto sheer corsets with whimsical skirts…Romance is back!!”

Eve sent over tons of inspiration initially to include sketches, gown details, linen samples and of course shots of the stunning Leisel gown!

Recently the white wedding has been making a comeback and this projects speaks to that fact perfectly.  Leila from Inspired by This couldn’t agree more as her prediction for 2011-2012 is all about the whites.

We chose the perfect palette of papers from Envelopments: Pyrite, Magnolia and the thickest of thick letterpress stock from Cranes Paper.  Our sketchy hydrangea was painted with an opaque white inks, very washy and ethereal.  We then added stronger hints of white hydrangea petals for a bit more pop!

Here the whole collection created for the project:  A classy drink menu with custom illustrations, place and seating cards, a lined love-note style envelope and petite menu.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for trusting my work to this beautiful project!
