Behind the Scenes – Arabian Days for Rue Magazine Part II

If you missed part I of my Behind the Scenes on our Arabian Days project for Rue Magazine, then head here!  Today I am excited to share some never before seen shots by the one and only (yes, cheesy I know, but true) Jose VillaJose has a way. That should be his tagline, not that he needs one, but if he did, that could be it.  He just has a way. A way to capture a fleeting second in time with more beauty and grace than most.  A way to take a small texture or perfect petal and transform it into pure emotion.  A way to make us all want to pause and absorb ourselves into the magical lands he creates on film.

Now onto the images.  First, I promised you more Caleb the camel…

Texture and material was paramount here.  From delicate wooden-petaled blooms to ratttan and alabaster vases, we’re getting lost in every bit.

The lounge area for just feeling the breezes blow by… Love how the pillow pattern meshes effortlessly with my hand drawn pattern for the menus, totally unplanned!

Raspberry Peonies, Kangaroo Paw and Alium stalks combine in a curious way, especially against the alabaster vessels.  A small detail I know but I can’t get over the impact of that tarnished chain wrapped around the vase,  incredible.

We created napkin rings painted in shades of gold on papyrus.  Menus, were hand painted in bright white against the straw tones of the paper.  Perhaps our most favorite detail; rugged stoneware dishes adjacent to the sleek gold flatware.  Stunning.
