A Peek into the Studio – Pink Paper Flower Wedding Invitations

Today let’s take a stroll in Paris if you will… Years ago I designed a pattern inspired by Versailles Gardens that we lovingly call Versailles Swirl.  Nothing gets me more excited than a bride who visions something I never have.  Lauren did just that.  She combined Versailles Swirl and Sculpted Blooms to create a breathtaking suite.

The softest of pinks and shimmery whites… all sculpted into lovely shape.  The pink blooms began as white rice paper, then were hand painted with soft watercolor washes.

…All tucked in petite boxes ready to mail…

What I adore most about this artwork are the obvious brushstrokes.  You can feel it being painted as you look.

So what am I up to?

Just wrapped a new watercolor pattern for a familiar paper brand.  Can’t wait to share more!

Just back from Atlanta for a magazine shoot.  Read more about that here and here.

Putting the finishing touches on KristyRice.com.  Check out a sneak peek…
