Well Said – A letter to keep forever.

One of my favorite pieces to create is the personal thank you letter, as I like to call them. These letters are typically given by the bride or groom to members of the wedding party, close family or each other. At Momental we like to create elaborate pieces meant to be treasured for a lifetime. How do we do it? – a meaningful combination of custom illustrations, select poetry, pocket presentations and detailed finishing. Recently I created a letter for Eugenia to present to her husband to be the morning of their nuptials.

Eugenia’s letter included an E.E. Cummings poem, Vintage Lacy tree with an illustration
of their beloved cat Ginger, and to finish a wrap and double ribbon with hanging tag.

Well Said – Rumi, An unusual quote

I just love this quote Jessica chose to compliment her invitation suite. In her words “I wanted to avoid the standard choices in wedding quotes, I wanted something subtle, romantic”.

A great resource for finding quotations is www.thinkexist.com. You can search by subject, keyword, author and more.

Well Said – Braveheart

Love this quote – such a beautiful sentiment….
This design for Melissa is such a joy in shades of fuchsia, taupe and pale pink. The Willow Pocket from Envelopments is adorned with a petite seal.

Well Said – Thoughtful Ceremony Program Pages

I am a big fan of ceremony programs! I can’t think of a better way to include your guests and help them connect in a personal way to the ceremony. Often brides create very simple programs or exclude them totally for fear they will end up in the trash. I completely understand this fear but know of some great ways to ensure your guests will think twice before tossing their program after the ceremony. I am often asked to list some favorite details to include in a program so I thought I would share this list with you today!

Readings

Choose one or two of your favorites to be printed full length for your guests to follow along.

Thank you Note

Take some time to write a personal greeting of thanks. Your guests will certainly take notice.

Order of Service

Be detailed and specific, list all participants, music selections and readings. A nice detail –

include a sentence or two explaining the significance of each choice.

Timeline

Add a timeline mapping out the day…this detail give the program purpose beyond the

ceremony.

“Did you know?” page

This is a fun one! The program is a perfect place to draw attention to all those special details

you have worked so tirelessly to create. For example on my “Did you know” page I mentioned

that my aisle runner was hand-painted by several artist friends and that my grandmother’s

broach was tied into my bouquet!

“Get to know the attendants” page

Instead of simply listing your attendants names why not include several sentences sharing

some fun. Here is an excerpt from Suzanne’s lovely flip style program above.

“Groomsman

Taylor H.

Jason and Taylor met during their first math

class at Princeton. They went on to share

the same major, the same eating club, and even

many of the same friends. Sharing a love of

travel, they have been to California,

Switzerland, Paris, and even upstate

New York together. Taylor is generous, he loves

to laugh, and you can always count on having

fun when he’s around.”

The key to an engaging program that won’t be left on the seats – make it personal, make it meaningful, make it detailed.

Have a unique program page you would like to share – please do!!

Well Said – Walt Whitman

I love this poem, so simple and sweet. Perfect if you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.

I give you my handI give you my loveI give you myself…

Will you give me yourself? Will you come travel with me?
Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?

Walt Whitman

Are you using some type of prose on your invitation design? Please share!

Well Said – A Wedding Bicycle built for two

Photobucket

Rebecca called me about two months ago with a lovely quote she wanted to center her entire invitation design around. The Vintage Lacy Tree was the perfect collection, so I created a tree-scape featuring a tandem bicycle.

Rebecca hoped her invite would speak of simple elegance with a vintage flare. The lacy wrap was the perfect touch of softness and nestles casually within the lovely poem…

If you are incorporating some sort of prose into your invitation – I would love to hear more!

Well Said – A Sunny Sentiment

Short and sweet this week. I just adore this quote!

Photobucket

This sweet design was created for Jody and Randy. I combined happy shades of yellow with my whimsical watercolor tree with sheer shimmer hand-painted details. Does anyone feel like lemonade??
