I’ve been doing a lot of late nights these days.  Not sure if I’m trying to pump myself up for sleepless baby nights or what but less sleep has been my mantra as of late.  Something about the quiet of the house when you’re the only one awake is sacred in a way, like you are experiencing time that no one else is a part of.  In these wee hours time opens up and slows down.  Thinking takes on a new meaning and my hand craves a brush, pen, marker or whatever will facilitate meditation on paper. {In these late […]

Websters 1828 dictionary defines Heirloom as the following: HEIR-LOOM, noun are-loom. Any furniture, movable, or personal chattel, which by law descends to the heir with the house or freehold; as tables, cupboards, bedsteads, etc. Love it…and at this statement’s heart is a powerful idea…What is some-thing you adore so much that you would cherish and protect it for the duration of your life, in the hopes it could be passed to future generations?  My mind wanders to a Family Bible, stuffed with hair clippings, momentous greeting cards and the occasional invitation; all heirlooms too, I’d say.  So that is where […]

This time of year is quite exciting at the studio!  Wrapping up summer invitation designs while diving full force into our fall projects keeps things interesting for sure!  Here are a few favorites shipped last week: Emma chose our lavishly painted peony complete with a shimmering chandelier and flowy ostrich feathers framing the look.  Gold dots complimented the rich black backdrop. A simple sketch of her venue One Marylebone in London, gave her handmade wedding invitations a stately sense of personality. Jill’s summery Blue Hydrangea Wedding Invitations are simply pretty and purposeful.  No frills or unnecessary details just pure art […]

Today’s guest blogger is a kindred artist that I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce.   Amy Osaba is all about the ruffly, romance of the bloom.  Being a lover of all things floral, I was drawn to her site instantly.  I could spend hours  sifting through the artfully crafted bouquets, styled shoots and decor creations she pours her passion into. Welcome Amy!! Heidi Geldhauser of Our Labor of Love First I would like to thank Kristy for inviting me to guest blog today. What an honor.  I have admired her work for the last couple of years and am in […]

In my spare time (wink, wink) I love to work with industry friends.  La Tavola Linen is a company I admire and use often.  Their palette of custom linens can add flavor and life to any event and the fact they ship nationwide means anyone can enjoy the selection.  Recently a new showroom opened in Newport Beach, California and I was brought in to craft a few stationery pieces for their displays.  The best part of these projects is that I get to “play” with the prettiest linen swatches ever! Our lavishly painted peony on champagne stock with La Tavola’s […]
