Long time no blog!

Well it has been another unbelievably crazy 8 weeks. Along with the new move into the studio my team and I have been filling orders for the very busy late spring and summer wedding season. As I like to do when I have been black for a while- I am posting a variety of photos featuring my favorites from the many recent projects completed.

The first three shots were from a wedding in late April. My assistant Jessica and myself had the priveledge of setting up for this lovely event. Our favorite detail – 90 programs hand-tied onto chairs for the outdoor ceremony!

The last two photos feature a seating chart and pocket style program for a beautiful celebration in Korea. I just love pink and red as companion colors!

Enjoy!!

Big Bold Peonies

This morning I completed Kristina’s lush and bold peony invitations. The beveled borders and painterly style hand-painted details really give this ensemble a couture feel. The variety of papers used ranges from a soft shimmer to a luxurious linen texture. Shades of raspberry and fuchsia give a sophisticated punch of color.

I looked forward to creating these invitations all week. I got lost in the painting of each card – truly each is a work of art with its own personality and flair.

This is the style of artwork I enjoy most. These large blooms really draw the eye to the beautiful detail each bloom has to offer. Take a look at more from my “Big Blooms Collection”.

Pam’s lovely Vintage Stamped Tree Invites

Amidst the craziness of moving the studio, we are as busy as ever filling orders for last minute May and June weddings. This Sunday I completed a lovely order for Pam. She chose a gold gatefold that opens to reveal my signature Vintage Stamped Tree design.

Just beautiful…I love this one.

Spring is Coming – The Ladybug says so!

Last week I was working on a beautiful order featuring gerbera daisies and ladybugs. The colors theme was bright pink and rich chocolate browns. As the invitations were being cut to size my assistant Amy, noticed a little visitor scampering accross the paper. She quickly grabbed the camera to capture this all too perfect scene.

Now the picture is not the best but you will notice the live ladybug on the pink gerbera daisy!

Take a look at the layouts attached to get a feel for the whole look!

Gold Gatefold Invitation – A Shimmering Invitation to welcome Spring!!

I don’t know about you but this cold weather is really starting to get to me!! Here in PA yesterday it was bright and sunny but still bitter cold…I will take what I can get. While enjoying the sun yesterday I thought back to a lovely collection I completed last week.

Jennifer was a cheerful bride with a sunny voice everytime we spoke. Her invitations suited her perfectly!

A soft gold pocketfold with a unique “woven tag” closure opened to reveal a lacy stamp motif in an organic pattern along the left side of the invitation. A small detail that Jennifer requested was to add to gold butterfly fluttering about the lacy stamp pattern. I just fell in love with this idea!

Vintage gold and chocolate brown -awesome invites in no time at all!

This week I have been working with a bride from Ohio amongst a handful of others. The wedding is in Mexico at the end of this month and the party is next month in Ohio.

Heather called me on New Year’s Eve, booked, and I shipped her order today. This experience is a testement to the fact that custom design doesn’t always mean slow design!

I NEVER say no to a project, no matter how full my schedule is. Hey, I might miss out on a really amazing experience if I do, right? Heather was a dream to work with – it was the perfect combination of my creativity and her vision. The result? – an amazing gatefold invitation with a vintage stamped wrap, monogram seal and soft gold heavyweight cardstock.

I love gatfold wrap invites as they arrive as a small gift to your guest. They stop people in their tracks…”how do I open this”, “I don’t want to ruin this” – I hear these comments often. Bottom line, your guests will take more time with this style invite, they will savor, be suprised and careful as they open. This style of invitation creates anticipation…that is anticipation for your event and isn’t that exactly what you want???

Well I am off for a few more hours of work today and then on a plane for a quick vacation. I hope to paint while away and will be sure to post my creations. I think those planning destination weddings may be interested!!! See you soon!
