I adore collaborating with the team at Project Wedding.  They continually produce editorial designed to not only inspire but to enlighten a bit, I believe.  Have a look at the last time I got creative with them here. Mandalas, loosley described as a spiritual symbol of the universe, have their roots in Hinduism.  Often drawn intricately or carved into the ground or sand, these round symbols of life and spiritual earth each have their own visual personality.  This wedding inspiration shoot interpreted the Mandala as a floral symbol of never ending love and unity.  My interpretation of the Mandala was […]

When Karen Tran has an idea…I like to run with it.  I first discovered Karen Tran back in 2009 and fell so in love with her look and floral artistry that I designed an invitation to curb the creative overflow!  Karen then found this blog post and got in touch…we’ve since met in person many times and always have so much to chat about – just imagine two artists brainstorming away on all things color, wedding and business! So when the opportunity to create a hand painted stationery suite to the tune of Karen and her daughter Aileen’s vintage vision, […]

Today I’m back with more from our Runway to Reality story for Occasions Magazine!  To get caught up you may want to take a look here and then here!  The Genevieve gown from Claire Pettibone was pure inspiration here.  Being drawn to the frocks classic lines and medallion-like elements I began to develop the details for stationery and beyond.  Soft shades of amber were my cue to infuse color into the scene. Well the team weathered the storm well back in Pennsylvania.  Me, I’m here in sunny Utah and thrilled to finally be sharing the first of three runway to reality shoots we produced for Occasions Magazine earlier this year.  Using three Claire Pettibone gowns as our muse, 3 distinct scenes were visioned and first today is the Amelie. The point of this project was to communicate how a gown can infuse it’s aesthetic into countless other moments throughout the wedding – cake, stationery, table decor and on and on…  The billowy freshness of the Amelie gown made me dream in muted […]

No one dives so deep into our bridal fantasies as Claire Pettibone does.   Fully immersed in what inspires her, she renders fantasy to reality with an obsessive eye for texture, pattern and detail.  Ms. Pettibone is a quintessential artist.  It is clear she absorbs herself in the process of design.  She wraps her life in inspiration and lives and breaths exquisite materials, until her vision is gracing the runway.  Claire designs from her heart, with her heart and that is precisely why we are so transfixed.  Experiencing a Pettibone gown can be likened to viewing a fine art work hung […]
