Slate and White Artistic Wedding Inspiration Part IV – The Pool Shots
So today I’m wrapping up a trip down memory where I re-posted a favorite project from last year. Get caught up here, here and here… The shots I’m showing today are some of the most eccentric and those I have never shown before. Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves and step outside the box of all we assume. Weddings and events are not meant to be cookie cutter. There is just too much interesting in this world to do what everyone else has done before. This shoot allowed me and a team of creatives to explore the more eclectic and edgy side of wedding. We dove into a world where wedding dresses are blue and empty pools become a party space. Surreal yes. Out of the realm of possibility, no. Fabulous and fun to take in, oh absolutely.
To wrap up our artistic shoot we hopped into the pool! Well, not really but… Our local YMCA resides in an Art Deco detailed building. A new pool was built but lucky for us the old was maintained after being drained. We decided to get into the drained pool and have a little fun! By this point in the day, our model was super relaxed and just having fun. Here she is hanging from the pool steps with her watercolor butterfly bouquet nearby.
Love this production shot…
Carol Hannah’s Wentworth Gown draped so beautifully over the edge of the pool.
Moody poses.
A few flower sculptures shot in, around and atop vintage pieces from Maggpie Vintage.
This blue painted settee normally resides in my living room but for the day it was hoisted down into the pool. Here our model looked quite at home sprawled out over the delicate piece.
These were some of the last shots of the day. The pool was cleared of every prop and piece of furniture. All that was left was the haunting quiet of the scene and the lovely shadows.
The shadows were possibly the most interesting…Almost as if another figure invaded the shot.
Thank you so much again to all that made the project possible and thank YOU for reading along and indulging my love of this project this week.
