My Best Friend's Wedding – Is it really June already?

I’m sure you have said this to yourself at least once this week, right?  Somewhere in the last few weeks June happened without my knowledge;)  So here we are 5 weeks before Amy’s wedding and of course I am getting blissfully lost in the details.  To get caught up on all the fun read here for the color story and here for the proposal.  See how her timeline save the dates came to life here and last but not least, meet Danny their incredible photographer! Amy’s invitations went out just two weeks ago and the responses are rolling in!  I’m keeping the invites a secret for now, but soon enough I will share.  All I can say is that a year of collecting glass pieces came to beautiful fruition in each guests’ mailbox!

What is so difficult for many Brides is envisioning all the glorious details planned month after month…How will this really look?  Will I still like these colors together when I see them next to my linens?  These are just some of the myriad of questions all brides seem to saturate their minds with and Amy is no different.  Indecision seems to plague anyone planning a momentous event.  So to help my friend out I created a series of sketches to literally paint of picture of this event as it has come together!  This one is for you Amy, enjoy!

The celebration has its home at Suicide Bride Restaurant in Hurlock, Maryland.   A gorgeous, green lawn overlooking the water will host the ceremony.  Amy has always loved my Sculpted Blooms, since college really when I first started making them.  Fresh blooms will by DIY’d (with the help of Fiftyflowers.com) into bouquets and centerpieces but for the ceremony,  paper is where it’s at!!  Massive paper blooms in a primarily white palette will arch above the couple as they say I do!  Boat rope and maybe a big paper bloom or two will line the aisle…fun!

Sweet and petite bouquets for the girls will feature orange ranunculus, hot pink dahlias and a variety of spray roses! Amy’s still deciding on bouquet adornments; brooches, handkerchief bits from her mom’s wedding dress, oh yes!

Amy and Stephen have been lovingly collecting oil lamps which will become the focal point of each reception table…

It is all coming together!! Next up, day-of stationery, can’t wait!  Check back soon for more on the flowers too!
