Beginning with her first art
class in sixth grade, Kristy Rice was certain that the rest of her life
would involve creating works of art. Since then, she has always been
involved in some sort of project. Whether it be a summer of creating
wheel-thrown pottery, or painting on location out west, it has always been
clear - art is her calling.
Kristy graduated from Penn
State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education in 1999.
Soon after, she created all of the stationery for her own wedding. She
then went on to do the same for close friends and family. Kristy
quickly found that this type of work combined her passion for creating as
well as her desire to work with people.
In 2003, she formed, Momental
Designs which features a collection of hand-painted wedding stationery
derived from her original artwork. |

The word momental describes Kristy’s
philosophy: “weddings are joyous, yet fleeting, occasions that deserve the
utmost in creative details.” Kristy sees handcrafted
invitations, programs, seating cards, etc. as the details that can make an
occasion most memorable.
Kristy now works with brides nationwide and internationally. "I feel very
lucky to
wake up each day and go to work, doing something I am so very passionate
about". Kristy employs five assistants who assist with various aspects
of the custom process.
In her
artwork, Kristy combines traditional techniques with unique combinations of
color and texture. She primarily works in watercolor but often uses
accents of gouache, acrylic and colored inks. |
