Wet Paint - Current Projects
September 12, 2009

Welcome to my gallery of current projects!

momental_designs178

You may be wondering why this gallery is named Muddy Brushes…well let me tell you.  A Momental invitation always begins with my original artwork and muddy paintbrushes.

A Muddy Brush is well-used, creatively worn and sopping with hints of vibrant color fresh from the day’s creations.  Wet paint on my hands and dripping wet brushes are the signs of good work and great beginnings.  For me, the best invitation designs begin with an idea and then a touch of the brush to paper.

So enjoy this gallery as it is updated often and know you are welcome to leave comments on your favorite designs!

The classic palette really keeps the more spirited illustration from looking too cute or whimsical!

We had a blast with your color palette.  The feathers and orchid branches frame the invite for a quirky yet organic look.

I created a sketchy illustration of the sunflower and combined with the hydrangea for a lush, full and romantic landscape.  Washes of soft watercolor were added throughout.  The pattern border is an upgrade option that adds even more lushness to the look.

I am so excited for this design!  It is really coming together!

Knowing you were inspired by Saakshi’s artwork and have orchids used throughout your inspiration boards.  My mind immediately went to a heavily painted orchid against a shimmering champagne cardstock !  Such a fun start I think!

This is my favorite!

The vintage swirl in this color palette is quite dynamic.  The added touch of gold is perfect!

I added quite a bit more painted flowers in and near the tree.  I used a lovely raspberry shimmering ink.  I also added gold flower centers for an all-over glow so to speak.
