Let’s rewind to about 1 year ago – if you came to me with all white wedding invitation dreams I likely would have smiled and said oh yes “we can do that” but inside I would have been paralyzed with fear. You see I’m a color lover, through and through and until recently, with the help of a few amazingly creative couples, did not put much value in white color palettes. Until recently I used color and intense hues to create drama, all but overlooking the power of white and softer palettes to make a statement. Alicia and Justin’s wedding stationery changed things for me and truthfully helped me grow as an artist. So read on for more about this elegant nearly all white wedding at Haiku Mill in Hawaii.
Just adore the lush greenery mingled with chandelier glimmer here…hard to imagine a more stunning location for wedding vows.
White Peonies and Hydrangeas were sketched against champagne shimmer stocks, then meticulously hand painted in opaque and shimmer white inks. The layering of ink finishes produced a look full of subtle drama and wow factor. We added a sketched lace border on shimmery textured white stock for yet another layer of detail.
A small moment that I love the most is the hand drawn white monogram treatment. Traditionally to get this look you would need to spring for engraved printing of the entire invitation but instead we hand drew the monogram in milky white ink, for an elegant detail that added so much personality to the look.
