Detailed ostrich feather illustrations and the lush hand-painted peony really compliment eachother nicely.  The feathers are sketched into the design to give a better idea of placement for future letterpress printing.  I added a rich raspberry outermost border which warms the look overall!

Again, I had a blast with your sample.  The peony on black is stunning!  I completely hand-painted the look with shades of raspberry and purples.  The invite is scalloped and finished with a hand-painted dot border.  See what people had to say when I shared your design on Twitter! Hope you don’t mind!

So I am hoping you don’t mind but I had some FUN with your first sample.  I love experimenting!  I used several shades of deep purple both shimmering and non.  Hand-painted strokes of color are plentiful in this custom peony damask illustration I created for you.

I also added a touch of black fringe for that edgy feel we discussed! Enjoy!

  1. Edgy, but whimsical and romantic! Love the colors….. How are you able to prevent the paper from wrinkling when you paint directly on the paper? Looks lovely!

Thanks so much for the kind words. And to answer Nichole’s question – we use really heavy papers!
