I had a bit of fun with the color palette! Bright magenta and springy greens work well with the spring flowers we discussed. I love the hand-painting on the tag closure!

Inspirations – Fruity wedding details
Fruit and veggies have long been a staple in wedding decor. From submerged fruit centerpieces to pomegranate place cards, we have seen it all. A new trend is emerging though, where fruit details are seen in fashion and stationery and not as diminutive accents but as powerful punches of color and shape.
Take this stunning cake by Flour Girls and Dough Boys. The lovely shape of pears is used to balance the angular cake layers. Kenneth Jay Lane’s apple pendant would be a perfect layering piece for the daring bride looking to add a touch of playfulness to her wedding day jewelry choices. Judith Leiber’s pear and apple clutches would add that wow touch to a simple attendant gown.
Vintage fabrics can be found just about anywhere. A quick trip to your local antique shop should uncover fabrics perfect for a photo booth backdrop or buffet table covering.
I love the idea of these cherry tea cups as a fun favor to hold goodies from here.
Fruit stickies could be the perfect party favor and fresh raspberries make a playful perch for your wedding ring shot!
Simply Bloom Photography, Joy Thigpen and Amy Osaba came together to create this photo shoot for Design Sponge. The fresh peach details are just precious. I love those plates!
Here is a little sneak peek of some images from my photo shoot a few weeks ago. I am really not supposed to share too much, but I just couldn’t resist giving you a look at the raspberry invites and fresh berry styling used throughout the shoot.
So get creative and be brave. Fruit details are not for the faint but if used with confidence can pack quite a design punch!

Momental in Southern Weddings!
I am a big believer in people and the power of accomplishments born of smarts and passion. Lara Casey and her team at Southern Weddings are the perfect example of what I speak of. I am sure most of you read the iconic Southern Weddings blog that offers up daily real wedding inspiration. “Southern” may be in their name but the inspiration speaks to brides in all regions everywhere. We too have fallen in love with the southern charm, down to earth and extremely personal approach the Southern Weddings gals have brought to the world of weddings.
Since the launch of their first magazine I dreamed of being a part of their next. I was elated when I received the call to create custom signs for this amazing shoot by Jory Cordy. A few simple photos and color swatches were all I needed to get to work on this project. The color palette of soft blue, pinks and creams gave a wealth of design opportunity.
Stunning calligraphy headers by Kathryn Murray were just one of the artistic details present throughout the magazine.
I created a large wedding sign featuring pencil sketches of peonies flooded with lush watercolor shades of pink, yellow and green. A border crafted of vintage fabrics added that special touch of texture.
The bride and groom signs incorporated similar artwork but with a clean ivory border and torn edges. A huge thanks to Steph who I recently titled the MacGyver of the studio for her expertise and advice with this project!
Southern Weddings is on newsstands now or you can order a copy here! Once your copy is in hand I dare you to put it down, seriously!

A Peek into the Studio – Peacocks, fortunetellers and a proposal in Italy
This time of year our projects are quite varied. Many clients are sending save the dates for next year’s events while some are wrapping up unique day-of accessory designs for late fall and early winter weddings. I chose a few of my favorites from the last 2 weeks to share with you!
From top left: Lauren’s custom illustration of the Luzerne County Courthouse graced with falling bejeweled snowflakes, Jenn’s citrus inspired palette wrapped in patterned stock and ribbon, Cara’s Storyline save the dates telling her Italian proposal story, Claire’s custom fortunetellers for reception table entertainment and finally Sarah’s watercolor peacock for her ceremony in India.
So what am I up to?
Just back from the Southern Weddings Magazine Launch Party at Bridal Bar Atlanta. Thanks again to everyone for such a warm welcome and for the super cool dance party, Mammoth Men!

The soft palette of navy, pink and gold is stunning. I chose the sketchy version of my peony illustration to lend a romantic quality overall.
