Long time no blog!
It has been a very busy time at the studio since the new year has begun! I have been involved in many new projects and finishing up orders for those early spring late winter brides. Today I thought I would yet again show a smattering of the projects I have been working on! Invitations are such fun – I can’t imagine doing anything else!
Recently I was interviewed for modish – handmade spaces. Take a look for more studio shots!
I loved working on this project for a bride getting married in the Bahamas. Invitations wer featured here months ago. I created these wedding weekend itineraries, menus, programs and table numbers all with the peaceful lotus. This bride was great…she said “Kristy, just be creative!” Music to my ears!
These tags were used on a First Birthday invitation. They are really tu tu cute – don’t ya think?
I created this damask pattern with hand-painted details in fresh green! The look is sultry and sexy. I love the romantic colors – really sets a mood.

Vintage gold and chocolate brown -awesome invites in no time at all!
This week I have been working with a bride from Ohio amongst a handful of others. The wedding is in Mexico at the end of this month and the party is next month in Ohio.
Heather called me on New Year’s Eve, booked, and I shipped her order today. This experience is a testement to the fact that custom design doesn’t always mean slow design!
I NEVER say no to a project, no matter how full my schedule is. Hey, I might miss out on a really amazing experience if I do, right? Heather was a dream to work with – it was the perfect combination of my creativity and her vision. The result? – an amazing gatefold invitation with a vintage stamped wrap, monogram seal and soft gold heavyweight cardstock.
I love gatfold wrap invites as they arrive as a small gift to your guest. They stop people in their tracks…”how do I open this”, “I don’t want to ruin this” – I hear these comments often. Bottom line, your guests will take more time with this style invite, they will savor, be suprised and careful as they open. This style of invitation creates anticipation…that is anticipation for your event and isn’t that exactly what you want???
Well I am off for a few more hours of work today and then on a plane for a quick vacation. I hope to paint while away and will be sure to post my creations. I think those planning destination weddings may be interested!!! See you soon!
